Artist of the Week

Background

SUBtv wanted to produce a cutting edge music programme that would create great content and raise awareness of specific artists' releases and live music tours.

Campaign

Create a regular programming feature on SUBtv that has promoted some of the biggest names in music. The Artist of the Week receives heavyweight video play; up to ten different music videos are scheduled each with their own branded trails. The labels arrange access to the artists and SUBtv conduct an interview and record idents to create an intimate feel to the programming. Our student presenters love meeting the stars, and you don’t get bigger than Sister Bliss and the Foo Fighters!

An SMS / email based competition to win exclusive prizes brings measurability to the activity in addition to the huge airplay and exposure for the artists and brand sponsor.

Results

Many labels have used Artist of the Week promotion, and SUBtv students have enjoyed the music content and won numerous prizes including Killers Casino night, trip to Brazil to see Faithless perform, VIP tickets to sold out gigs for Keane, signed artwork and tons of free music through the competitions.
