Sub.tv Sport Wednesdays Launches!

With the start of the new university sporting year, Sub.tv is proud to announce its new weekly sports programme.

Every Wednesday afternoon Sub.tv will be screening a roundup of the days sport results coupled with video highlights of local matches. The show will be repeated on Friday afternoons to allow any students who missed it to catch up and will also be available at any time to launch from the Sub.tv On Demand service.

John Inverdale, President of BUSA, has personally endorsed Sub.tv’s initiative. To hear what John Inverdale had to say click here (video1) / (video2)

Sub.tv has also recruited a national network of 15 Broadcast Production Teams (BPTs) who will be working in each of the BUSA conference areas, bringing you nationwide sports coverage.

The BPTs will be filming fixtures and team profiles every Wednesday as part of the new look Sub.tv Sport Wednesdays - our weekly round up of university sport with video highlights playing alongside Live BUSA Results Service.

Please tell your AU Officers about Sub.tv Sport Wednesdays and encourage them to upload their content at www.sub.tv.  More information will be coming to them soon.

This is a fantastic opportunity to get even more students into your bar and ensure that your venue is the centre of activity for sports teams after their matches.

Make sure to tell you bar staff about Sub.tv Sport Wednesdays. We have attached some posters for you to download and put up around your bar to help make Wednesday a really great night.

Sub.tv Music

Sub.tv Music is now officially launched! Please check out the site at www.sub.tv/music.

As a promoter of live events the site can be used to promote gigs via artist pages and (coming soon) bespoke promoter pages. It is also a useful tool to find out which acts are going to fill venues and what other local talent is out there.
For bands, Sub.tv music supports unsigned talent and helps artists gain exposure.

For more info on the Sub.tv Music site or if you know of any bands who would like a free live video session or support slot please contact music@sub.tv

UK's Largest Free Student Poker Championship

This academic year, Sub.tv has teamed up with VC Student Poker to run the UK’s largest free to enter student Poker Championship!  The student promotion, now in it’s third successive year, consists of a nationwide Fresher’s fair promotion, weekly online free to enter qualifiers and a minimum of 20 free live events held in students’ unions across the UK!

Selected union venues will be kitted out with all the gear necessary to hold a successful poker evening and have the event run by a Sub.tv production team. The entire event is a free roll tournament so no money changes hands, however students do stand to win themselves some spectacular prizes.  This year the final will be in Prague in one of the city’s finest tournament casinos.

If you are interested in getting involved with our poker events please reply to this newsletter.

Dot Mobile partnership with Students' Unions

This year Dot Mobile is working in partnership with over 50 Students’ Unions across the UK. In the new dot Marketing agreement Unions are rewarded for each successful sale made to their members. The model is proving a success with many Unions having made a great start to the year. Currently The University of Derby Students’ Union is leading in the Dot League table with just under 200 sales by mid October. This result couldn’t have been achieved without the full support of Alex Young, Media Sales and Marketing, at Derby SU. Alex can’t relax now though as Coventry, UCE and Liverpool John Moores are close behind.
