Features
With digital media a large part of the student social network, the ability to interact with your students is valuable for promoting your Union events and activities.
PUSH:
Push your events and activities via Bluetooth. Send promotional videos, images (bar promotion, image redemption code), games or music to students during events.
INTERACTIVE:
Allow your students to interact with your Bluetooth system by sending images and videos to Sub.tv.
KEY-WORD RECOGNITION:
Students can send a keyword to the system during promotions, allowing specific content to be sent to them on request.
DATA CAPTURE:
Collection of customer data has never been easier. Students can send their vCard to the Bluetooth system to register for product information and promotional incentives.
TRACKING AND PRESENCE:
Mobile phone devices are logged by their security numbers, detailing the frequency of visits and time spent in the locality of the Bluetooth system. Unions can then implement loyalty rewards for your customers.
All aspects of this technology are controlled by moderation software eliminating rogue users. top

Results
Unions
Bluetooth technology is suited to incentive based and/or rich media content. Newcastle, UWIC, Herts, UWE and SouthBank have seen a 22-41% acceptance rate depending on the promotion.
For example UWIC had a 29.5% acceptance rate on a free nightclub bus offer, compared with 15% to a cocktail offer. This shows the more relevant the student feels the content is, the higher the download levels will be.
Other incentive based promotions have included:
Free drink as part of a meal
20p off a pint
Multiple drinks offers
Event promotion
uLive
41% of students attending the event had their Bluetooth enabled, with a 25% acceptance rate of the promotional video. We observed a 22.5% conversion rate with photos being sent in via Bluetooth being used as part of the tour video online.
Tracking and Presence Results
Teesside is currently leading the way with the most Bluetooth enabled phones during a one week period, with an average of 1373. Typically our 11 site trial sites log over 6000 students a week with their Bluetooth enabled.

Frequently Asked Questions
What can you send?
At present you can use the device to send images, with video and music support coming soon. Use the images to promote drinks promotions in the bar, events calendar and local information such as bus timetables, campus maps etc.
How do students receive the promotion?
Students within the bar area with their Bluetooth turned on (and set to discoverable) will receive a message from the device, which can be named by your Union. They will be asked whether they want to receive the media (voucher.jpg) and can select yes or no.
Is it a nuisance?
In short - no. The device logs who receives it (mobile security ID - not number) and who refuses it. Settings can be changed so If the media is refused, it will not be sent again for a set period of time for example 24 hours.
What do I do if our union wants one?
Contact jai@sub.tv to request an installation.
