SUBtv’s new Video Jukebox has been developed to cater for the varied and distinctive musical tastes of its audience.
Each union has its own Video Jukebox, operated by the bar staff who use their touch screen behind the bar to choose music from four genres – pop, alternative, urban and dance. In addition, students interact by texting to the screens so that their messages appear on the local tickertape while the jukebox is playing.
The mobile phone network, 3, is sponsoring the Video Jukebox scheme throughout our 90 plus union venues. Tagged 3VJ, all plasma screens and touch screens are branded with 3’s logo and livery, producing a memorable and visually stimulating promotion.
The campaign, which runs two thirty minute sessions daily, features 3’s manga-style "critter" characters in a series of sequences specifically designed to promote 3’s message "we like music" and "we like sharing" for SUBtv’s youth audience.
With accountability high on every company’s agenda, SUBtv is tracking the data accumulated from the 3VJ promotion and compiling charts to show particular musical choices for every union in the network. This will form the basis of a video digital jukebox which will enable students to text in to select music videos in the future.
