SUBtv offers outstanding opportunities for promotional activity - directly trackable and tailored to individual advertisers.
Below are some examples of promotions - please call our client team on 020 7881 2540 for more information.
Live TV screens content - e.g. football/rugby
- A promotion was developed for a lager advertiser who wanted to drive sales during televised sporting events (during the match as opposed to the half-time break).
- The touch-screen was set-up with a "Goal" button that triggered the promotion when pressed by the bar manager or field personnel.
- The SUBtv screens then displayed the promotional mechanics, e.g. "X brand lager £1 a pint for the next ten minutes".
- This promotion can be adapted in any number of ways around third party content and sales results can be directly tracked via EPOS links, for example to the bar pumps.
Promotions driven and controlled by the SUB screens.
- The Student Travel Association sponsored travel/adventure content on SUBtv. Individual executions included a chance to win a £500 travel voucher.
- Vodafone ran a promotion in conjunction with Grolsch, whereby a text response to topical quiz questions promoted on screen generated bottled Grolsch prizes direct from the bar in real time.
- A lottery game was devised in conjunction with Guinness. With each pint purchased at the bar, the customer is given a lottery ticket. This is produced as a unique number, printed by a thermal sensor attached to the pump handles. After a given period the screens automatically displayed the winning tickets, for a free pint prize.
Promotions supporting sales promotion and sampling activity.
Opportunities for field marketing campaigns are many and varied. The screens promote the individual campaigns, which are then followed through by teams on site.
- The Face in the Crowd promotion pays off the lucky student’s loan. We trailer a SUBtv/union event or club night, and then edit footage of the night. During the following days an individual face in the crowd is frozen on screen in the bar. If a student is in the bar when frozen on screen then they win.
- A game called Pint Man, very similar to Pac Man, was created for a lager brand in Northern Ireland. It consists of a rubberised mat with embedded wireless triggers that are used to move a "Pintman" character around a maze on the screens to win pint prizes. A promotions team in each bar facilitated this. Pint Man proved so popular that it led to footage of the game being shown across all the screens in the bar at the time of the activity via web cams.
